Project :           EDUCATION
Aim :                To bring smile on faces of underprivileged children

Guru Nanak School provides education free of cost to approximately 550 children who come from economically weaker section for whom paying Rs. 5/- per day is also stressful.

Rotary Worli began the intervention from the year 2015 by conducting various mega medical camps to assess the general health conditions of the children and providing necessary medical treatment.

With the support of STOP HUNGER NOW a not for profit International organization, a group of 55 children who were identified as malnourished are provided on regular basis with healthy meal packet comprising of rice, dal, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix that includes 23 essential vitamins and minerals.  Cooking demonstration for their parents is held to show the taste and benefit of the meal.  On weekly basis their weight and other parameters are checked for improvements. The assistance will continue as long as essential.

Realizing the emotional needs of the children, we co-partnered with Apni Shala to provide life skills education program on an ongoing basis which focus on social, emotional and cognitive development of children. Such development ensures that children are better equipped to deal with their day to day challenges. The program consists of two main aspects- experience and expression.

Over the next 2 years, necessary upgradation of the school infrastructure including sanitation, drinking water and classroom facilities will be provided.
