Some of the other projects- Every project of Rotary Worli CHANGES LIVES
Project: Operation Restore and Skin Donation awareness- We Burn with the desire to heal.
In association with National Burns Centre, Airoli Rotary Worli since inception of the Operation Restore program five years ago participates in free burns conjecture surgery for the not affording victims.
Not many learned individuals are aware that skin is the largest organ in the body and post death within 6 hours can be donated. Rotary Worli participates in the Skin donation awareness programs so that harvested skin can be used as dressing for burns victims thereby reducing the medical cost.

Project: Harvesting water to solve woes
Rotary Worli in consonance with ‘International Decade For Action’ relating to water has constructed check dams in Village Savaroli (district .Palghar). The check dams will assist in reducing the water pollution, encroachment and over exploitation and also be a source for drinking water. Regular water literacy drive will help in understanding, educating and conserving water through requisite size of check dams.
Project ADHAR for the MENTALLY CHALLENGED
ADHAR is India’s first Special care facility spread over 7 acre which provides lifetime shelter, care and support for mentally challenged adults. Situated at Badlapur, near Mumbai, the Institution runs with no Government support.
We felt it our duty to support them in any way we could and our activities there included setting up a Biogas Plant, Installing Solar Street Lights, kitchen equipment’s/ dining table, steel cutlery, Mattresses/ bed sheets. Various efforts were made to reduce the food cost deficit.
A larger Project at ADHAR is on the anvil
Project: Blood Donation Drive
Organizing Blood Donation Camps is a backward integration of our ZERO THALASSEMIA MUMBAI PROJECT.
Thalassemia major patients require large quantities of blood on a regular basis. Realizing this we have been focusing our attention to organize these BLOOD DONATION DRIVES with Corporate House, Colleges and at Railway Stations.
The Rotary District 3140 blood Donation Drive on 1st July 2015, “DROP OF HOPE” was a huge success with over 4000 units of blood collected in a single day.
Our Lectures of thalassemia highlight the necessity of “VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION” and that it is perfectly safe. The donation drives are done with Government Blood Banks only.
A special thanks to the Nair Hospital Blood Bank and the JJ Mahangar Raktapedi for their continuous support.
